Another excellent book on science communication, published by Island Press: Escape from the Ivory Tower: A Guide to Making Your Science Matter, by Nancy Baron It's more of a hands-on guide than most other books on science communication. (And I must claim bias because I'm one of the science journalists who contributed a sidebar to the book.)

Other recent books that may be of interest to people on this list:
Am I Making Myself Clear? A Scientist's Guide to Making Your Science Matter, by Cornelia Dean Don't Be Such a Scientist: Talking Substance in an Age of Style, by Randy Olson
