Breckfast

One local market has a good selection of bulk items
which attracts my attention in late winter.
What i find puzzling is seeing all the carts full of
cereal boxes. Most of this stuff is expensive and
much of it is junk food. So... why is this junk
popular when the bulk bins cost less and have
greater nutrition. I don't know.... But i do have
a cereal idea to share.

Each week make a unique cereal by varying the nuts, fruit,
and seeds. Sweeten it with home grown stevia and eat it with
soy or low fat milk. I've found cooking isn't necessary and
most items in the bulk bins have interesting tastes. Here is
my current creation:

 rolled oats
 flax seeds
 pumpkin seeds
 walnuts
 puffed wheat
 cranberries
 stevia powder

Most of this is grown locally and did not require material
or energy for packaging. This makes it a better ecological
choice than boxed cerals.
