I'm glad to hear that it looks like my information on energy payback of PV is outdated. In any case, I need some power to my camper before I make up my mind about connecting to the grid. I don't need much since I'll be lighting with Aladdin lamps and the frig is propane. It is nice to be able to switch on a light when I get home after dark or when I wake up. Lighting Aladdin lamps in the dark isn't fun. I made it almost a month on a fully charged car battery in October, so my load can be pretty low. I would like to add a laptop to the load though. I'm looking for the simplest, cheapest way to recharge the battery. I've thought about just swapping the battery in the trailer with the one in my car every couple days, but that's a lot of bother. I also have a 5 HP motor I could run an alternator from. I took a look around the net though at PV panels and found: http://altenergystore.com/cart/375.html They have a 40 watt panel for $144. The panel is a Photowatt PWX400. I don't recognize the name Photowatt and since they are so much cheaper than anything else I have to ask if anybody knows the company or altenergystore.com? Thanks. ==>paul
