I saw an ad in Organic Gardening magazine for a
company that specializes in perennial vegetables
It lists a web page but i have not looked at it.

>From an eco standpoint the perennials and plants
that reseed are usually more sustainable.
Theoretically they are less work but if we eliminate
external energy this may not be true. Hand weeding
and other manual techniques can require lots of
work. Anyway, here is a sample of the plants
they carry:

RAMPS - wild leeks from East Coast (USA)
Arrowhead (duck potato) from West Coast (USA)
 lovage - like celary
Good King Henry - huge spinach
 Buffalo Gourd
 Maypop
 Perennial Rye
Toona (also called chop suey tree)

The catalog has 7 pages of plants. Some are for warm climates and
others go up into zone 3. An interesting catalog for
edible landscapes and permaculture sites. The mail address
is:

 Perennial Vegetable Seed Co.
 P.O. Box 608
 Belchertown, MA 01007
