The "henry's" i've seen were over 8 foot tall and
large. Can't remember what the leaf size. The sad
news is that all my seeds failed to germinate.. sob.
I'm beginning to think King Henry only makes sense
for warmer climates where it can be a perennial. Other
plants which are easier to grow would be better for
habitat and food production. Sometimes i feel this
way about some of the staples such as corn and tomatoes.
I just lost our corn to a late frost but other
plants just laugh at the weather and produce. Here is
a list of plants that like our cold wet springs:
Chives
garlic
potato onions
carrots
parsley
bok choi
strawberries
lovage
sweet woodruff
asparagus
cabbage
