The standard description for the F2 code is...

"A unit accepted by an international agency; potency of a drug/vitamin based
on a specific weight of that drug/vitamin."

As to which measures are considered "International", i.e.: metric, imperial,
etc... Good luck.

Subject: International Units

In the 837 v4010 segment sv204 (Unit or Basis Measurement Code) In the HIPAA
implementation guide for Institutional Claims that is a qualifier of F2
which
indicates International Unit and says that it is a "Dosage amount is only
used
for drug claims when the dosage of the drug is variable within a single NDC
number"... O.K....What's that mean? Does that mean I can use cc's, grams,
etc?

Thanks!
