Ryan,
I've used the same setup, but with Paradyne modems many times successfully.
In my opinion the high end models of Paradyne, Multitech and Motorola are
more lights out (reliable) kind of modems and the high end of 3Com (USR
Courier) and Hayes Optima are more consumer like modems.

Ryan,
We use CLEO 3780Plus with the Synccable + and an external Modorola UDS
3400 and
3600 modems. This works great on NTs, Windows, and UNIX systems. The
Motorola
UDS modems can even be used
with Cleo A+ async software. Other external modems that we have
successfully
used have been US Robotics (one for bisync) and Multisync.
You can get all you need with one stop shopping right through the CLEO
corporation.

Good luck.
