Chris, (My opinion) VANS, will carry the data and present the data however it is required. I think the advantages of routing information through the VAN will only be IF that VAN can provide VA reporting or visibility tools for the data as it is pushed into backend applications. Jim

I would guess that the primary integration hurdle that will be facing RFID implementations will be between the RFID readers and an Organization's ERP system. I wonder though what role VANs will play, if any, in a companies RFID solution. For some implementations would it be advantageous to transmit data directly to a VAN and not an ERP system? I have seen some 856 documents that were not generated by the creator of the goods to be shipped but by third party warehouses , shippers and such. Any thoughts, opinions?
