I agree with Tom here. We implemented a solution via AS2 last year where our client's trading partner mandated AS2. Not only did they mandate AS2 they dictated which platform/vendor to use. This vendor does not even use a "pure" (RFC compliant) AS2 protocol. They apparently use their own special blend o ftransportation protocols that achieves little more then vendor lock-in. We will be using this product in addition to the other ASx solutions we have in place for the foreseeable future. This creates support, licensing and automation issues that could have been avoided. I would have rather kept FTP.

There are reasonably-priced ASx solutions out there, such Softshare's. The problem is that many of the big players require that their suppliers use "certified" AS2 solutions. Because of the cost of certification, low-cost and open-source ASx solutions will be little used until people stop requiring certified solutions. -- Tom Brandt Northtech Systems, Inc. 130 S. 1st Street, Suite 220 Ann Arbor, MI 48104-1343 HYPERLINK "http://www.northtech.com/"http://www.northtech.com/ .
