Hey Todd,

We are in the Electronics Industry. We have EDIFACT setup for Automotive,
Electronics Distributors, CEMs, OEMs, etc. Surprising we have quite a few
U.S. based customers setup on EDIFACT. their choice to support only one
standard. All of our Asia Customers have chosen EDIFACT as well.

Regards,
Jeff

Jeff,

You must be doing the automotive OEMs and Tier 1s. We have had the same
experience. Are you trading EDIFACT documents with non-automotive?

My opinion....

I have been working with EDIFACT for about 5 years now and I enjoy it more
than X12. I think more companies who use EDIFACT follow the "true" format
of each transaction set. In my 9 yrs of EDI experience I have never had two
trading partners have the same EDI 850 format. However, on EDIFACT I have
about 20 that are the same. Same segments, elements and qualifiers. In
addition I have another 20 that use the same segments, though different
elements and qualifiers.

Jeff

It seems Cummins likes EDIFACT.
