Earl, 

EDI-INT via AS2 does NOT have to be so expensive. For example, our 
company distributes a Drummond certified AS2 connector, free for 
single partner use www.nsoftware.com/ipworks/edi/connector.  

If you are looking to embed AS2 capabilities into your software 
application, we also have certified software components for .NET and 
Java.  

We only focus on communications (AS1, AS2, & AS3), and not 
translation or mapping etc., so we are able to offer low cost 
solutions that can be easily integrated with your current systems.
