The 855 is generally issued against a blanket or bulk PO. That is, there are no
distros. This document verifies you agree with the terms and conditions of the
PO, which are incorporated by reference when you receive the distros.
A 997 only verifies that the raw EDI document was recd, and reports back any
EDI errors, if any.

Hi all,
I have a clarification to be made regarding the 855.
When 855 is an Acknowledgement to PO(850), we can as well go for
Functional Ack (997). considering the fact that we want to implement
855 which is a time and cost factor as compared to 997. why is that
the clients still go for 855?? does 997 not satisfy their requirment??
any specific advantages of 855 over 997?
Please let me know.
Thanks in Advance,
regards,
sahil.
