Parts of the question may need further clarification, as mentioned in another post...
But one other thing to consider - is how the trading partner's 997 is set up - is it set up to acknowledge a single envelope, any/all documents within the evelope or each and every segment within the envelope? If they are set up to only acknowledge the envelope, you will receive a single 997 for the entire envelope - no matter how many documents - and type of document - is included. If they are set up to acknowledge at the document/transaction set level, then this example you give COULD be correct for sending out 55 invoices (I'm assuming it's 55 documents, not a single document with 55 lines).... the 997 below references receiving 55 810 documents. using the above, if they were to send multiple document types within the envelope - say 10 ASNs and 5 Invoices - then the 997 should reflect receiving those 10 ASNs and the 5 invoices, not just 15 documents. If they acknowledge at the segment level - well, then you've got a LOT more data to show.... The AK2 segment CAN repeat - but only for each type of document you're sending in the envelope. So, jugding the document below - you sent 55 invoices, they acknowledge receiving 55 invoices - but with errors - which means that the 810 you sent does not match their translation map.
