Char, I wish I could tell you different but you will never find an EDI for dummies. I have read the other responses, and beyond the great search for information and the jokes others are giving. The truth is it is an ongoing processes for every day you spend with EDI there is something new you need to know. The best way is to look at the current job in front of you and solve that situation. Every project you work on you will cover new ground in some way shape or data format. I started with a glossary of EDI terms and a couple friends to help me solve the EDI situations as they arise, three years later I am very proficient in EDI plus the logistics world in whole. Today I help others with there EDI situations and I still learn something new everyday. Saying that I would be more than happy to help you out with your Director of Sales and getting him to feel comfortable with some EDI language. Please get back to me when you get chance and we can discuss more in detail exactly what you need him to understand.
