It's not just EDI . we get a lot of this same sort of stuff on the SAP lists
as well. Just this morning there was a guy who asked the Basis list how to
set up EDI interfaces in SAP. There are a lot of people out there, and I've
had personal experience with a number on large project sites in California,
who have no experience but have pawned themselves off as both expert and
cheap.

All too often they slip thru the cracks because they get resume writing and
interview support on the web and from other like-minded frauds and of course
management loves the cheap rates they're being farmed out for so is often
willing to overlook red flags. But they pay for their stupidity in the end,
in shoddy work, missed deadlines, and having to hire competent consultants
to fix the mistakes of the frauds.

Well, no, it did not occur to me.

Just like Ms. Foerster, I have been surfing this listserve for a long time.

However, in my case I am no longer "boggled" when I see it.... it's more
like 'disappointed.'

It would seem the word has STILL not been sent forth that EDI Consulting
work requires skilled, dedicated professionals.

Apparently some people still think putting together an EDI system takes
little more than learning to use a couple of point-and-click, drag-and-drop
touchy-feely screens.
