It is much appreciated. Have you found XML not used in UK & Japan? What else is used for smaller Companies in UK & JP? The industry is logistics & freight forwarding & rail too... Are there any places I can read up on this? Thanks, Anne ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: Anne Williams <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected] Sent: Tue, September 14, 2010 5:12:04 PM Subject: RE: [EDI-L] EDI Intl Formats Hi Anne, EDIFACT is the most common standard in the UK. For Japan \ it is a bit more complicated; EDIFACT is used by larger companies / importers and exporters for international EDI communications. Smaller firms don't normally support EDIFACT. Locally Zengen or CII is much more common. These are Japan specific double byte formats not widely supported outside Japan. If you are in Automotive there is also JAMA EDIFACT which is a localized version to support both international EDIFACT plus local double byte requirements.
