There are probably hundreds of trade associations with IG's. ATA (both trucking, American Trucking Associations, and Air, Air Transport Association), AAR (Rail), Ocean (ISA) CIDX, PIDX, WINS, BISG, to name a few more.......
As for the definition of EDI, I'll stick with ..... EDI is the computer to computer exchange of machine processable data in a pre-defined format. And of course, XML is EDI.
