Who are these "people" who "do not like" multiple tables?

Seems to me in the hands of any competent Mapper/Programmer/Analyst there is
no real difference at all.

When you think about it, what is the difference between mapping the
"customer PO Number" to Flat File Record type "10" position 62 or to
table order_header, column "ponum" ; or mapping the part number to "Flat
File Record Type 30 position 9" or to table order_line column "part_no" ???

Call me naive, but data are data and it goes where it goes. .
