I have had a couple of customers send consecutive numbered purchase orders. They would use the high order bits to designate the supplier and the bottom were consecutive. It made it really easy to tell if a PO was missing and get back to the customer as to the reason why.
When same day shipping was required, this is a real help. I'm with Mrs H on this ... who the heck cares if carton ID numbers are consecutive or not? Do you ask your customers to only send you consecutively-numbered purchase orders? Do they ask for consecutively-numbered invoices? MCM [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ ...
