We too dumped GXS, and later Inovis. I'm surprised they held on to the GXS
name, though; I expected they were trying to buy back some respect, and they
were going to hang the Inovis name over the door instead, but that doesn't seem
to be what happened. Looks like they just needed to buy another company's
network so they could have one that worked longer than 3 weeks at a time. If it
hadn't been so frustrating at the time, it would have been comical how many
times folks posted on this list, "Oh crap, is GXS down again? Really?" I'm
shocked anyone actually uses them at all these days, even if their uptime has
improved.

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

At Yankee Candle I have removed GXS from every possible vendor relationship we
had due to their extremely poor VAN uptime and utterly dreadful customer
service. I replaced them as a VAN with Inovis and when they bought Inovis I got
rid of them too. When I took over our EDI business in the UK, GXS was the first
to be jettisoned. They did not hesitate to try to hold our business hostage at
various places along the way, unsuccessfully. I would not have them back as any
sort of business partner at any time, ever.
