This thread reminds me of a probability puzzle:

In a certain society, every couple produces babies until they have
their first girl baby, and then they stop producing babies. Now this
means that some families will have just a single girl, some will have
1 boy and 1 girl, some will have 2 boys and 1 girl, some will have 3
boys and 1 girl, ..., in a few families there will be 5 or more boys
and one girl.

In this society, what is the overall ratio of boys to girls?

Despite extensive evidence to the contrary, assume P(boy)=P(girl)=
0.5. :-)

Cheers

Rex
