Hi, I've checked definition(s) in Describe Word Processor (version 5,
1995).
Meanings:
1) to attest to the truth, genuineness, accuracy, or validity of
something;
2) to make an abstraction concrete or perceptible often by
representation
in human or animal form.
Synonyms:
confirm, authenticate, bear out, corroborate, justify, validate, verify.
Antonyms:
deny, contradict.
Related words:
attest, certify, vouch, witness, back, support, underpin, uphold,
warrant,
check, check out.
Replace "substantiate" with any of the synonyms listed above, the
question
remains the same, how do you (substantiate/confirm/justify/...) your car
is the best performer?
Cheers.
