I recommend Multivariable Analysis : A Practical Guide for Clinicians by Mitchell H. Katz (Author)
For absolute beginners who are interested in an amusing introduction to medical statistics: they cover logistic regression, multiple regression and PH-REG (proportional hazards regression) almost in depth. As well they cover confounding, p-value and many interesting things. Mostly it reads like a medical mystery book more than a statistics book even when discussing cox regression, which is why I call it amusing to read.. The original text requested was "Interpretation and Uses of Medical Statistics." which is a wide and comprehensive guide to medical stats.. . . ================================================================= Instructions for joining and leaving this list, remarks about the problem of INAPPROPRIATE MESSAGES, and archives are available at: . http://jse.stat.ncsu.edu/ . =================================================================
