hmm, despite of default GUI being too children/teens oriented, I would say that the more neutral the default GUI is, the better it will suit more people's tastes.
In a similar context, I'd like to draw the attention to a very easy-to-include solution to reduce both disk band with and net band with: a lighter Window Manager. GNOME may be cool and friendly, but I must say that WindowMaker or Fluxbox perfromance is MUCH more faster than GNOME, and therefore, users get happier. Plus, the fact that lighter managers allow cheap boxes run as server, too. So, I'd say that having the chance to install GNOME and a light WM from Edubuntu install CD is a very good idea. -- Cordialmente, Mauricio Hernandez Z.
