"many dansguardians" is a normal behaviour if the dansguardians have low
cpu usage (0.1%)  and proxy isn't in use by users.
If they are high you can disable dansguardian in proxy configuration.
For debugging purposes you should enable the dansguardian logging.

How much RAM and which CPU do you use?
Are you using the smtp proxy or pop proxy for receiving mails?

I checked the top and I could find many "dansgurdian" using up the CPU
