I don't believe that subnet mask is correct for that address. And I'm not sure I understand this:
" the d-link gets it's info through dhcp and THAT is not even working from efw" The d-link is the dsl router? And it gets its address from your ISP using DHCP? And the efw cant ping it, or whats not working? Kinda sounds like you have the red and green nics connected the wrong way. That's why you should enable the DCHP service of the efw, and make sure your workstation is getting an auto-assigned ip from it. It's a way of testing it. Or maybe sounds like your dsl modem is not a bridge, and you should not be assigning 24.72.112.29 to your red card. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of turbo Sent: Wednesday, October 03, 2007 7:12 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Efw-user] I am lost with new install, help please These are my settings from my d-link page ip 24.72.112.29 subnet: 255.255.255.0 gateway: 24.72.112.1 the d-link gets it's info through dhcp and THAT is not even working from efw. If I try to get the proper settings, I don't see a result until I log in to the webgui. There it shows for the connection a yellow bar. After punshing in the correct # in the network setup with ethernet static, I get e green bar and it says "connected" and with ifconfig it shows the connections as it shows it in the gui, even the gateway is shown. When looking at those information, it SHOULD work, but it is somewhere inside ? of efw broken. Why, where ...??????? Ah, I can't even ping the ISP's gateway. Why , I don't know anymore. Below is the networkstatus. ---------------------- br0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:FC:EE:BF:E8 inet addr:192.168.100.1 Bcast:192.168.100.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:1663 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:2741 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:118958 (116.1 KiB) TX bytes:624183 (609.5 KiB) eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:06:5B:82:FC:F7 inet addr:24.72.112.29 Bcast:24.72.112.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING PROMISC MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:15164 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:474 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:960202 (937.6 KiB) TX bytes:190692 (186.2 KiB) Interrupt:11 Base address:0xe880 eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:FC:EE:BF:E8 UP BROADCAST RUNNING PROMISC MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:5932 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:2738 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:409687 (400.0 KiB) TX bytes:625185 (610.5 KiB) Interrupt:9 Base address:0xec00 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:460 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:460 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:31192 (30.4 KiB) TX bytes:31192 (30.4 KiB) ------------------ and now I am ???????????????????
