Thanks for your reply, CC. However if Setup does not run (as is the case
here), it makes it impossible to dhcp into the Endian firewall [so we can
not http (or https) to the web app]. 

Furthermore, since the Setup is responsible for setting passwords (and does
not run), one can not ssh to the firewall, nor connect via null modem, nor
login at the console.

Ancillary additional note I forgot to include in the original problem
description: 
-MD5SUM was correctly matched to the downloaded ISO's [problem can not be an
error in download/burning of the installation cd]
