Hi,
I've been using ipcop for a while, but I'm now looking for alternatives (for
a number of reasons)
I've cut my selection down to Endian and PFSense (which I each will try out
in my network for a month or even 2 months)
(to be evaluated are : featureset, interface, stability, community support,
and perhaps later, commercial version and commercial support)
EFW (latest version 2.3) at first sight looks and behaves good, besides some
details lacking (which I'll raise as feature requests), last night I came
across a first bigger issue :
Secure SMTP out does not seem to work as expected. My EFW installation at
the moment is pretty much an "out of the box" install
I've searched through the archives and online, and I did find a few others
with similar issues, however, besides some vague hints, none of those
questions was really answered.
Also, the manual for this version is not yet completed, so there is
My situation :
I've a number of client pc's, each accessing several different mailservers
(my ISP's, my hosted mailservers, and different gmail accounts)
I can receive mail from all, and I can send through my ISP's server.
I cannot send through any of my gmail accounts
The client setup I'm using is the same as I needed to use for IPCOP with
COPFILTER (for gmail, POP3 on port 995 and SMTP on port 465, with SSL)
I also already tried without SSL.
Is there anyone who has a solution, or a "how to" to configure EFW and
client for this?
Thanks
L.
