You can download memtest86+, burn it to a cd, and boot from
the cd. It will tell you a lot about your computer's memory
throughput, as well as test the system's ram, which is
always a good thing to do.
Tell me the cpu cache and ram memory speeds that memtest86
reports, and I can tell you if the system is fast enough...
