Only problem is Endian is rather expensive especially for countries with a weak exchange rates. Endian don’t offer you many options. Like a cheap option for updates to the open source edition or other creative options.
While we discussing Endian as a general rule they are extremely poor at communicating to the open source community who follow the product, version timelines are impossible to obtain, even feedback is extremely limited. Features have supposedly been completed but not available to the open source community to test, which you would think would benefit them and their enterprise clients by more thorough testing? Anyway I love the product but I think their business philosophy is preventing them from growing. Maybe somebody from Endian or somebody who knows more, can provide some real feedback? Looking forward to a positive response. Endian's business model is similar to RHES and SLES. if you need updates , subscribe, and maybe with more subscriptions they can increase their development staff. Lee PS: http://www.endian.com/en/support/maintenance/ [ Just as importantly, Endian maintenance includes all security updates to every Endian application so that you can keep the devices protecting your network safe from security vulnerabilities. ] compdoc wrote: > Efw has a few problems that way - it’s a nice firewall, but it seems few ppl > are working on it, it runs on an OS that doesn’t support upstream updates, > and it's even difficult to know what OS it actually is in terms of wanting to > install drivers or utils. > > Guess that might make it more secure, but it seems difficult for some ppl.
