Dave,

As one of the evil vendor community, I hear your message.

Generally there are some quite valuable posts from vendors, and sometime the
specific features or architecture approaches in the various products are
enlitening (God forbid, I find evenIBM's post of value, thanks Ian...).

What we have promoted as a protocol is for vendors to bracket their self
promotions in

<vendor>
GemStone/J Rules!
</vendor>

tags, that way you can quickly skip over this post if you find them
disagreeable.

This has been the informal protocol of this group ( and not all vendors play
nice ). Let us know if you have a better suggestion.
