Our Questions:

1.We are looking for suggestions on possible best combinations for designing
the architecture for such a system.

-It's like any other architecture. Base the solution on the requirements
provided. Is security super important? Is scalability super important? etc.
Obviously, there will be a focus on transactional integrity based on what has
been described.

2.We would be grateful if any of you could provide more info. about this in
the form of white papers/case studies.

-Um, I doubt there's a whole lot of stuff out there that's public on this. I
know IBM has some stuff about web-enabling CICS and MQSeries. Maybe read that
and compare MQSeries and MQIS
(http://www.messageq.com/communications_middleware/dickman-lang_1.html). The
stuff should be pretty comparable. Set up the various queues, send messages to
the queues, perform the translation, execute the CICS transactions, get results,
and Patooey! spit back to WebSphere.

3.Also, can anyone throw some light on the exact use of MQIS in the above
archiecture.

-MQIS (Message Queue Information Service) is a service portion of MSMQ
(Microsoft Message Queue). It will basically be handling the front end
messaging services to the CICS Transactions.

Hope this helps,

M.
