It's a simple implementation choice (UDP broadcast). Both approaches have pros
and cons and involve different trade-offs for scaling.

Multi-homing a machine is a two-minute click-click-click (or vi :-))
operation, not your biggest issue when you are trying to deploy a clustered
application.

Anyway, please let's stay technical, okay ? This is a promising thread, I hope
it doesn't generate in a vendor contest.
