Hi Tarun,
<vendor>
We have a J2EE software component that provides exactly this service.
It's called Flux, the Enterprise Job Scheduler. It provides full
timer-based processing, job scheduling, task scheduling, etc with tight
J2EE integration. Jobs can be fired at various times of the day, week,
month, and year with millisecond resolution. Jobs can also be fired at
regular intervals, say, every 750 milliseconds or every 100 days. Jobs
are optionally stored in a database for persistence.
It's written in pure Java, obeys all the EJB rules, is application
server independent, and is database independent. It's been tested
against WebLogic, Oracle, DB2, Orion Application Server, and Hypersonic
SQL.
Info on Flux can be found at http://www.simscomputing.com/products/flux/
</vendor>
cheers,
david
