No one is seeking to exclude vendors' representatives from contributing.
Indeed, their contributions are welcomed and valued precisely because they tend
to be especially knowledgeable about EJB. What many find objectionable is the
vendors' customers using this forum to ask questions about how to use a
vendor-specific feature of the vendors' product. Furthermore, there is an
interesting sociological phenomenon whereby the individuals who tend to pose
those questions also exhibit the following behaviours:

They do not provide entries in the "subject" fields of their submissions or
   provide misleading ones.
They announce that their question is "urgent," in uppercase, as if they are
entitled to any answers that their kind-hearted peers might give to them.
They have neglected to read the manuals for the products about which they are
asking, they have not visited the vendors' Web sites for answers to their
questions, and they have not posted their queries to the vendors' product
   specific newsgroups.

Together, these behavious constitute an annoying combination of entitlement,
incompetence, and stupidity that is to be marveled at in a forum for the
discussion of an advanced technology, and which any reasonable person should
like to see eradicated from this list. Participants have always shared a
general feeling, that mostly went without saying, that EJB is a cool technology
that one is fortunate to be paid to use, and perhaps I am not alone in having
the irrational notion that it is wasted on those stupid and entitled
individuals, that they do not deserve to have jobs implementing EJB.

Hi,
Aren't the vendors supposed to be experts in the field of middleware?
That's the EJB spec. Right? Source code of app. servers are probably the most
advanced EJB implementations. Why exclude them? They should know more about EJB
than the normal EJB developers.
bye,
Mohan
