Hi All

I do agree with what you all just said...

and do understand that the gorillas are real heavy and stuck there.

But I believe that EJB and OODBMS will go hand in hand and would actually be
more effective than RDBMS..
although OODBMSes still need to mature up...

For example take Versant or Jasmine ii .. they have improved over the years
... better performance for sure than what they were before...

BTW Has anyone tried EJB with say Versant or Jasmine ii.

Regards
Rohit Parik

I had extensive experience w/ Object Design's ObjectStore a year ago. As
a
OO developer, I felt OODBMS is wonder and natural to use. However, also
as
a hardcore performance and scalability engineer, I felt let down by what
it
  delivered.

As many have already said, inertia and politics play a big role in why
OODBMS never really took off. Technically there's no excuse why we still
have to mess around with archaic RDBMS, object-mapping, JDBC, etc, but the
bottom line is companies like Oracle are 800 lb gorillas that just won't
  budge!

Has anyone really been able to scale an OODBMS?
