I am interested in availability - does anyone knows what is the typical
uptime pct. for an EJB app? Is there any known 5 nines up-time EJB project
(99.999%)? Is it possible to achieve this with any EJB container? The only
24x7x365 installations I know are based on those huge IBM mainframes (OS/390
and similar) and are not Java based ..
IMHO, EJB is not robust enough to compete in environments like
transactional banking systems (where actual money is handled). I know some
EJB projects in banking, but none deals with ATM-like transactions.
I believe, though, that big projects can be done in EJB - but I wonder if
you can get anything close to 5 nines uptime.

Subject: Is EJB mature enough to handle big projects ?
Hi
I am having a very big application which I am planning to port to EJB. But
before that I want to know if EJB can handle such heavy applications. I have
both web compnonet as well as back office componenet in my application.
Can anybody suggest me some sites where I can look in for such successful
stories or if somebody has done implemenatation of large projects on EJB
before, please do let me know.
Regards,
Kanwardeep Singh
