Hi Gil, You've got the wrong guy !! It's Brian, VE7NGR, who is having the problem sad to say. I have had no problem at all with my Heil Proset Plus with the HC-4 and HC-5 elements - no preamp required and 100 watts all bands. But thank you for your good wishes.
