What was the price associated with the 800 watt linear? I am sure I
cannot afford it, just curious ;)

It's not a rumor.
Elecraft unveiled their solid-state 800-watt all band (160-10) amp at the
DX convention in Visalia last weekend. Eric told me that another version
of the amp would also be available that doubles up on the finals which
would put out a full 1500 watts. Availability will be later this year.
I'm sure Eric will announce the details soon on this reflector.
