If the second version puts out a solid 1500 watts it would be a first for solid state amateur amps. I would be interested in it since it could do an easy 1 KW out with headroom to spare. I have a perfectly fine tube type amp but the cost and availability of many tube types is a source of increasing concern.
It will be interesting to learn more as a release date comes closer. It's not a rumor. Elecraft unveiled their solid-state 800-watt all band (160-10) amp at the DX convention in Visalia last weekend. Eric told me that another version of the amp would also be available that doubles up on the finals which would put out a full 1500 watts. Availability will be later this year. I'm sure Eric will announce the details soon on this reflector. 73, de Earl, K6SE _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
