Dear Elecrafters! Since few days ago, my K3 (S/N3050) has no response from its RS232 port. First no frequency data became obtained by Logger32. Then, I tried to connect by K3 Utility, I tried port refresh, port test,etc. But no reply from the K3. I confirmed K3 Utility program is sending polling signal to K3 RS232 port but seems no reply from K3.
I use USB/RS232 converter between P/C and the rig. I changed the connection with other rig such as FT-2000, and it works without problem using same com port, so that I'm sure the RS232 of K3 is something wrong. I'm afraid if K3 got a kind of surge damage because we had a bad wx with lightening just before the reported malfunction occur.
