Although the dial is showing 'rpt', the RIT is working and this enables signals about 900Hz either side of my calling freq (600rit + 1/2 filter width) to be heard. Reply------------------------ Excellent idea Nigel! It's so very important to *tune* around between CQ's if an op wants to hear all the replies. Sure, the increasingly common practice of sending a CQ from memory, listen to the tx freq for 3 seconds, then repeat does, after a bit, snag a QSO, but that doesn't make it the best approach, depending upon one's interests. There are a LOT of QRP rigs out there that are crystal-controlled (rockbound). There are also a LOT of old glowbug (tube type) rigs that are also rockbound. Ops looking for interesting contacts learn to *tune around* for them! If you don't want to work on two frequencies, just tell him you're going to QSY. Since not all stations have rigs with the precision frequency display of the K2, check to see where he is relative to your freq, and then tell how far and in what direction you're moving (e.g. I WL QSY UR FREQ, UP 3 UP 3 OK?
