Hi Nigel That's a good idea. I've used a variation myself. By going to Split, the TX sits still but the RX can be tuned during the pauses. Unfortunately, a later firmware upgrade deleted this ability. I find I can still do it when contesting, though, with the K2 keyed by my computer instead of the internal keyer. 73, Bob N6WG

On occasions I have discovered later I have missed a return call just outside the passband. I now find this works for me. I set up my 'CQ Callsign K' sequence in a memory. Set the filter to 0.7 and turn on the RIT. I recall the memory and hold for repeat with a gap of 6 seconds. In the gaps when I listen for the return calls I rotate the RIT from side to side and listen for return calls. Although the dial is showing 'rpt', the RIT is working and this enables signals about 900Hz either side of my calling freq (600rit + 1/2 filter width) to be heard. -- 73s, Nigel ZL2DF _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
