I believe that's why the scientific community has used "Global Climate
Change" for many years. "Global Warming" was a shorter, snappier headline
for the press. 

Much like the time many decades ago when the engineers described a new ship
with revolutionary electrically operated anti-flooding doors "practically
unsinkable", but the press couldn't resist simplifying it to the "Unsinkable
Titanic".

felt in increasing extremes, rather than a straight line increase in
