Hi Ray, Actual on the air results lead me to completely disagree with your statement. With my old rig I ran at half power on RTTY. During contests if I could not get a response from the other station by the second call I would just twist the power knob to full and 90% of the time I would get the contact. The benefit of that one single S unit was repeatedly proven to be all that I needed.
