Hello John, I would get the KTCX03-1 option instead of the 2.8 filter. You won't notice the difference between the filters. I have two K3's one with the 2.7 and one with the 2.8 and there is no real difference between the two.
I would get the 500hz CW filter for starters. When you start working serious DX CW you can get one of the narrower filters for that. That's my opinion.
