Gang, I installed a DVR3 recorder in my K3 a week or so ago and am very displeased with the quality of the recordings.There is a fluttering or motor-boating noise in the background that becomes louder with the recording of a voice. It is so bad that I will not put it out on the air. It is even worse when replaying a recording of a CW signal.
I have the lastest firmware versions installed, MCU 4.25, FPF 1.14, DSP1&2 2.71 and DVR 1.03. I have tried recording with various settings for mike gain, compression, TX EQ, etc. but nothing seems to make a difference. Before I go to the "Guys in Aptos" has anyone else on the list had a similar problem with the DVR? Thanks in advance for any replies.
