I recently acquired a padded carrying case (not hard-sided like a Pelican) that suits my needs for carrying a K3 plus numerous accessories. It costs $21.95 from Surplus Center of Nebraska. The interior measurements are approximately 6 x 16 x 13, with 1/2" padding on all sides. It's a dark blue heavy nylon. I can put my K3, a power supply, headset, J-38 key, breakout box, a large external power/swr meter, cords, connectors, a Powerpole distribution box, and other goodies into the bag, with room to spare. I wouldn't want to check the bag as luggage without putting it inside a protective box with padding. It fits easily into an overhead bin on a plane. It meets my needs very well, and the the price is hard to beat. see:
