I'd like to thank everyone on this list who responded with ideas as to why my
K3 was not putting out any RF during the configuration phase of the build. Got
a lot of great suggestions and now, thanks to those suggestions and ideas my K3
is perking along as per specs.

Oh, yeah...the cause: I had left FL-1 and FL-2 slots open for the FM and AM
xtal filters and put the 2.8 kHz 8-Pole SSB filter in FL-3 and the 500 Hz
5-pole CW filter in FL-4. The radio was looking for something in the FL-1 slot.
Once I got the K3 Utility downloaded and found a USB-to-DB-9 serial cable (a
no-name cable w/out any software) and got it working with one of the drivers on
the K3 site, I was able to muddle through and get the radio to recognize the
FL-3 slot as the transmit xtal filter. From there, thanks to the K3 Utility I
was able to configure and align the radio per manual instructions. OBTW: the
Elecraft XG-3 RF Generator is a great tool to use when calibrating and aligning
the K3.

Once again, thanks to all who responded.
