Roger, The level from the K3 IF out jack is quite low - about what you would expect from an antenna. So you will need something more sensitive that a 'scope of frequency meter to find anything. Connect to a separate receiver that can tune to the K3 IF near 8.8 MHz to see if you can hear any signals. As Jim Brown pointed out, a common problem is a bad BNC cable - try a known good one.
